Old Settler's Insomnia

Yep....Old Settler's strikes again. You'd think that after living in Metamora for most of my life, I would get used to the fact that there will be horrible 'music' screeching and harmonizing with the shrieks of small and medium and some large people at midnight for four days in a row at the end of every June. But no, I completely forget every year that, not only does Old Settler's block off my street so I have to go around three blocks in the opposite direction to go home but also, the noise will permanently re-scar my eardrums. And it's the one time of year when you have to be careful about being mugged in Metamora. =)

So I got accepted into the Honors Program @ ICC. I applied 'cause everybody told me should last fall, but got stuck on the waiting list to be forgotten (much to my unsurprise). Then, AFTER all the fall grades were turned in and the HP people could look at them, I got an acceptance letter. It's like they thought I fabricated my entire transcript out of thin air, faked ever going thru high school and they need proof that, yes, I actually study. *shakes head* wow. well, I guess we showed them. *triumphant grin*

Everyone should be so proud of me........Andrea and I went to the cafeteria today!!! And she dumped her soda on the floor! And we almost got lost! So you should be glad we survived...

My car has undergone drastic rehabilitations recently and has hopefully also discovered a change in personality. In the hope that a new name will reflect aforementioned change, I'm taking suggestions for a new name for my car. It's a '92 Dodge Daytona IROC, if that makes any difference whatsoever. Please leave any ideas......I need a very wide base from which to pick.

well, either everybody is way too bored to post or way too busy to have time to post. we have three whole days off of ICC, but I *get* to babysit and get stuff ready for Thursday and Friday. Thanksgiving's going to be weird without Grandpa.
Randomly last night there appeared a lighted, 'moving' cement truck in ICC's front lawn. Non sequiteur, eh? (sp?) I was vaguely confused, but this morning there was in fact a sign to show that the truck was constructed for the Festival of Lights. What a relief! I thought the ghost of ICC had run out of other things to do and decided to mess with our minds this way.
